Jennalynn Fung is a writer, journalist, photographer, and pharmacy student (PharmD candidate 2025) with bylines in Teen Vogue, Pharmacy Times, Business Insider, NYCgo, Her Campus, and more, while being host of interview show, In Between Bites. They cover topics such as health and medicine, sustainability and environmental justice, Asian American culture and LGBTQ+ issues, in addition to interviewing musicians and covering concerts.

Born in San Francisco, California — as a third-generation Chinese-Korean American — Fung moved to New York at age 17 to grow as a photographer and artist. Inspired by the tightly-knit communities in NYC, Fung seeks to document the moments that bring us our humanity and hope, whether that be through speaking to our loved ones on the beach or watching the sun set for what it is. Their visual art commemorates the most overlooked seconds of our existence, seeking to pay homage to the ordinary by emphasizing the profound uniqueness of instances that are often viewed as mundane. Fung’s photographs are a testament to how beautiful life can be, even when we aren't paying attention.

As a writer and journalist, Fung takes a similar stance. They have written work about the people who move our world: activists, pharmacists, singers and songwriters, as well as what these folks are moving: fashion trends, the musical scene, the intersection between politics and the natural environment, and more. All of Fung's published writing can be read under the Articles tab.

Fung has found themselves on either side of the camera and the pen; they were interviewed in NBC, Vogue's, Buzzfeed's, Voyage Phoenix, and spoke on Asian All-American's podcast. All of these can be watched or read at the ”Featured In” tab.

Fung's relationship with the current social justice movements and other progressive initiatives being led by young people is intimate, too. They founded a Fridays for Future chapter in Arizona as well as an Extinction Rebellions group at St. John's University. Fung was also involved in the planning of several historical marches, such as the Climate Strike in New York City on September 20th, 2019, the direct action at the Department of Education in New York on March 9th, 2020 and the BIPOC-lead March Against Environmental Racism and sit-ins on September 25th, 2020.

In the summer of 2021, Fung worked as an Ensign O-1 under the Public Health Service on the Crow Reservation’s Crow/Northern Cheyenne Service Unit Pharmacy in Montana. They ventured all over Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, snapping photos on the road to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Glacier National Park.

In the summer of 2022, Fung worked for the New York City Department of Health as an HRTP Intern and Monkeypox Case Investigator.

In December 2022, Fung fundraised money through their photography for Care For the Homeless (CFH), a non-profit based in New York City that provides housing and medical services to the homeless.

In the summer of 2023, Fung was a 2023 Public Ceramics Fellow with Gas Works and Clay Space in NYC and have since continued their work in ceramics.  In addition, they were an IPPE Rotation student at Bellevue Hospital in New York, began their duties as a Staff Editor for the Rho Chi Post, and completed research regarding pharmacy education at St. John’s University. Fung also did press coverage at the Sol Blume RnB festival in Sacramento, California, and interviewed seven globally recognized artists in two days.
